The First National Championship to ve held in 2023 was kick started at yhe magnificent indoor arena of the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba Delta State with a Press Briefing which had in attendance sports enthusiast, journalists and lovers of the fastest growing sport in the world “Teqball”.
Adressing and answering questions about the planned championship was Promise Uwaeme Head, Communications, Competitions and I.C.T Nigerian Teqball Federation (NIGTEQ), Mr. Marvel Dick Chairman Delta State Teqball Association and Mr. Eddie Iseri Ogbemudia Secretary, Delta State Teqball Association and Secretary LOC Delta Teqball Tour 2023.

Five different categories would be competed in during the 3 days events which would see 16 different clubs from 11 states compete for laurels and a chance to qualify for the World Championship later on in the year.

The National body headed by Amb. Habu Gumel have promised it’s presence at in Ogun State for the National Sports Festival as a medal event, and also introduction to the youth games following the last exhibition held during the National Sports Festival.
The different categories to be competed in are the Male Singles, Female Singles, Male Doubles, Female Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. A price money of $3,000 is to be won across all 5 categories as some new contenders would look to push the likes of Victor Oyemade Nigerian number 1 teqer and Rashidat Salau off their respective throne.
